Greetings and welcome to Mettu Health Science college!. On behalf of our college, I would like to say thank you since you are interested to explore Mettu Health Science college (MHSC). I encourage you to explore our website and get information more about our college mission, vision, training programs.
I am privileged to serve as the Dean for Mettu health Science College. It is truly an honor to have the opportunity to lead and collaborate with such a talented group of academic staff, administrators, and staff in achieving the college’s visions of being the premier educators of future health professionals.

Currently the college staffed with 88 workers; forty-three (43) of them are teaching staffs and fourty-fife (45) of them are administrative staffs. MHSC is one of the Health Science Colleges in Oromia Region with great contribution to solve health work force scarcity in the region and as well as in the country for nearly 60 years from its establishment 1958 upto 2023. MHSC is one of the senior and experienced college known by demand based mid-level health professionals training. Its training was demand based, graduate were easily assigned to work soon they graduated. More than 11530 health care workers were graduated with different discipline up-to-date.

The College is committed to train highly competent health professionals to meet the evolving health care needs of the nation. The College is targeted to train knowledgeable, skilled and attitudinally matured graduates in relevant disciplines with competence to the health care delivery system that can support national development and make the country internationally competitive. Important skills needed to be successful as a health care provider such as leadership, cultural competence; interpersonal skills, values and ethics, and teamwork are foundational in all of our programs.

Our college follows different training methodology theoretical training, skill lab practice and health facility training (internships cooperative training). After training graduates were assessed by internal and external evaluator before, their graduation date and only knowledgeable, skilled and attitudinally matured graduates examined and certified by occupational competence assurance agency.

 Beside health professional training and education and recently started to conduct problem-solving research and serve as continues Professional Development (CPD) trainings center.

The current TVET Level IV Programs of the college are Pharmacy, Health information Administration, Medical laboratory, Health extension programs.

I look forward to advancing the college in the areas of expanding training programs, advancing existing training, service to the community and researches, particularly mindful of our needs for creating a diverse educational and clinical workforce.
